Outpost 58
A downloadable game for Windows
It is another day on outpost 58.
You are a researcher.
Your job is to analyse any samples sent in.
You have a lot of samples today.
You are alone.
A (Very) short and weird (mild) horror game made by me and damian in 2 days for the Unity.cs Jam hosted by Octopyte under the theme "Microscopic Mayhem", As you can see we took the theme literally, and made the main task being performed to be using a microscope.

Simple, but I had fun seeing what ancient horrors I could re-introduce into the modern world! I had a few little notes for future improvements at the end, but I had a great time and I can't wait to see what else you will make! :D
Here I thought, I was part of The Thing!
this game really gets you thinking ! I do wish you could do more in the outpost though, the game does feel kinda bland gameplay wise. BUT really well done on the specimens themselves !
I made a video on your game if you're interested :)Great game, really liked the story elements. Only till I edited the video did I realise that pictures appear on the screen.
the pictures on the screen and the description of them kept me on edge near the end

I didn't realize until the end that the pictures of the samples were showing up on the screen, but I think it worked cause it freaked me out really well! Such a good game! Yours starts at 6:35
Nice game, Maybe sequel?
Really cool game. Cant wait to see more
Pretty good game looking forward to play more of your games

You so rightfully deserved to win this jam. I'm normally weary of games where I have to go from 'A' to 'B,' back again, and keep doing so. However, in this game there's this element of a worry that keeps increasing with every new sample tested. Unknown elements carry a danger with them, for we know that these are the elements that can cause [and in most cases do cause] a lot of harm. That's what makes this game so great. No cheap jump startles. No cheap [and unnecessary] loud noise. No knocking on doors. Perfectly executed game. A BIG thumbs up.
Didn't run into any bugs, hiccups or other snags. Well done and kudos to all involved!
Did you really play Outpost 58 675 times? That's awesome sauce bro!
No. This is the 675's episode of the 'Free Indie Horror Game' series. In total I've uploaded 1,200 game plays.
I was going to beat my wife, but then I played this game and changed my mind!
is this the silent hill 2 remake
game of the year i think
This was a really good short horror game had me thinking i was going to get jumpscared keep up the good work and i hope you enjoy the video
This was a cool short game! I was totally expected something to pop up when I turned around! That company knows something is up! Good game!
Nice game! My thoughts kept racing as I thought that at any moment some sort of monster would emerge from that bacteria! ;)
This was a fun little game! I enjoyed the atmosphere and the tension, I was expecting a jump scare after the one sample was gone! I recommend, here is my gameplay video!
Good.. walau pendek bet kek cuman naroh di mikroskop tapi lorenya mayan lah semakin di cek semakin ngeri
Loved the premise, hoping you make it bigger with threats or something in the future. Felt like a demo and was wanting more by the end lol
Covered as Game #4 in "4 Scary Games Episode 31"

I love this game and I would like to volunteer to translate them into Turkish so that my Turkish friends can play them. How can I contact you?
well done
Fifth and final in the line up. Simple but make good use of its build and time.. I feel a loading period for the samples might play up the tension a bit but that's about my only real note. A fine bit of mirco horror with some nostalgic The Thing feels to it for me. Good job.
Great atmosphere, really weird samples which got creepier each time. Love it!
Good short game.
Great game, was genuinely curious what was going to be in the next sample each time
This was very fun and it felt so cozy with the snowfall out the window!!!

Happy thanksgiving, Tanyaco!
