this is the first devlog of hopefully many.
idk if anyone is reading these, but if you are, welcome.
Incase it wasn't very obvious, the game has only just begun to come together, this is the biggest project I've ever done... AND it sucks.
stuff will probably change from the original screenshots on the page, for example the forest scene is alot lighter in the newer iteration, as you can see below. I really wanted to keep it as it was but it just was not fun to navigate so I made the decision to change it. Things like this will change but I will try to make the game look as good as it can whenever I have no art skill whatsoever
on the bright side this is your first image of gameplay. The UI probaby won't change but you never know.
I also wanna just state where the project actually IS at the minute. For now I'm working on levels, currently I have 2 finished that probably need extending but idk... The core game is working, you can shoot guys, and they disappear. Of course I still have to add health systems to the player and damage to them aswell, but after that it's mostly just animation which won't be fun.
If I had to estimate a release... I would rather die because I DUNNO
It could take a month, 2 months, a year, 2 years?!???!?
I seriously have no idea, and I don't want to have an idea, since I want it to be as "good" as possible without deadlines.
last thing I want to say is that, unlike my other 2 games, this one is (almost) entirely original (shit)
Only big thing that isn't mine is the first person controller because I genuinley tried to make my own and all 4 of them just did not work. But everything else is original, or I had people make them for me. The Team is much bigger now, with 7 people! I'm still doing like 80% of the game but it seriously helps to have someone who knows how to make music, actually make the music.
despite all the shit I just wrote, the game isn't meant to be a super serious project, I mean, there are dumbass jokes like this:
